Preserving railroad history, both recording the changing technology of trains and the impact of the railroad on American history, the National Railroad Museum provides a unique, comprehensive look at this important economic and cultural achievement. With over 70 locomotives and train cars, and dozens of exhibits on display, the museum offers one of the largest collections of its kind in the country. Several times a year visitors can ride a vintage train pulled by a diesel locomotive. It is located on 33 acres along the banks of the Fox River and Dutchman's Creek.
